For starters, who can resist this Wedgie?

We’re dedicated partners to our employees, land partners, operators, vendors and customers. We dig deeper to cultivate positive, mutually beneficial long-term relationships with a network of skilled individuals. These relationships are the backbone of our operation. It’s the only way we can deliver on our commitment to produce fresh, high-quality food, give back to the communities in which we live and work, while protecting our good earth.

Seeing an opportunity to more efficiently and reliably ship potatoes, we became a vertically integrated farm to forklift operation with the creation of Horizon Logistics in 2019. We are now able to more effectively move produce throughout the country. Horizon Logistics offers year-round line-haul options and weekly pay. To learn more, visit

Land Partners

Land Partners

Land partners are valued members of our Black Gold family. Implementing potatoes in rotation is a great way we have found for land partners to create value. We pay a fair price to rent the land and pay in a timely manner. We believe that long-term relationships founded on trust and reliability will result in ongoing success and profitability for Black Gold Farms and all of our business partners. We take our responsibility to be good stewards of the land very seriously.

Land Selection Consideration

  • Sandy loam
  • Well-drained
  • Rock and foreign material free
  • Good access
  • Reliable water source
  • Pivot-irrigated (where applicable)
  • 3-year rotation
  • Black Gold Farms requires field histories on rented ground to include: pesticides, crops, etc.
  • Black Gold Farms will keep records of all activities and applications that take place on the ground.

Contact: John Halverson if you have land available.
