Very simply, CUSTOMER SERVICE and ENVIRONMENTAL DIVERSITY.

Black Gold Farms is founded and principled on world class customer service. Ten farms raise and ship fresh Irish potatoes in 11 states from late April-November and ship storage fresh reds September-April. Four farms in four states provide fresh and/or storage sweet potatoes year around. We position our farms near our customers to optimize transportation, provide locally grown options and to reduce our carbon footprint. Each reason is tied to quality and timely delivery as part of world class service for our customers.

The wide geographic footprint provides WEATHER PROTECTION/DIVERSITY for our crops. Challenging weather occurs randomly every year somewhere which may damage crops while perfect weather in other areas will provide excellent yields and quality. Our individual locations give Black Gold Farms customers confidence that we will be able to deliver quality and volume that we promise. Each farm production area is selected with acute knowledge of the local soils and weather. Potatoes do their very best in sandy, well drained soils.

Again, customer service and high quality are preeminent in selecting each site.

Other interesting facts:

* We lease most of our farm land, as potatoes are excellent rotational crops.

* We hire local talent whenever we can. They know how to farm in their own backyards.

* There are several Black Gold Farms, full time employees at each farm. There are many, many more employees that are seasonal.
